Being a Mom - OUAS

Hi there,

there is another challenge at Once Upon A Sketch with a sketch and the inspirational quote "An event that changed my life...".

I had the pleasure to play with the April Flying Unicorn Main Kit of the month. It's a great kit with lot's of mixed media supplies, 7Dots Paper, Chipboards and Tags from FabScraps, Shimmerz Paint, Big Brush Pen from Faber Castell, a great Stencil from Joggles and other beautiful embellishments. Have a look down, I made a photo of this kit.

My layout is about being a mom. My (hidden) Journaling is behind the tag.
As a mother you have it is often not easy. The children come first and expect and need it too. Often one comes to its limits and must still remain calm and explain for the hundredth time ... So many times you will be yelled at and it hurts and robs one last nerve. But then again, there are moments of harmony and love and affection. And then again you know to whom you give up a piece of yourself.

And this is the photo of the fabulous Main Kit of the month April from Flying Unicorn. It's gorgeous!

Thanks for visiting! Have a nice day!

Paintings

Hi there,

today I want to share my last two paintings I made a couple of weeks ago.

First painting is on a 10x15 cm size und I painted a cuban balkony on a canvas panel. The reference is a photo I found in Google.

My second painting is a little girl. Referenz is an old vintage photo I found also in Google. This one is on a 15x20 cm canvas panel. I think, this one could be a cover for an Art Journal...

Paintings are relatively new for me. It's a new adventure and I know I have to learn a lot. What I have learned on these and the other's is to enjoy the process. I'm a very impatient person and here I have to wait a lot. I have always a drying time and there is always something to improve.

I share it with the fabulous Paint Party Friday! Have a nice day and thanks for visiting!

Gift Mail - Paperdvizhnik

Hi there,

I want to show you a layout I made with beautiful and pretty things I got from Kate (Ekaterina) in a gift mail from Russia.

It's made for Paperdvizhniks Rubrik "Gift Mail" where every DT member can send a little kit to another DT member. It's a fun way to get a lot of inspiration and to get out from their comfort zone. I loved to create with these things and I say thank you once again to you Kate. By the way, the kit was very big and I will create more with this kit (coming soon). The chocolate was delicious, my girls and I loved it!

And here again the layout and a close up.

Easter Bag

Hi there,

I want to show you a little Easter Bag I made for the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®

Here is a little Tutorial how I made it.

1 - I used a bag from a Pocket Book Pad designed by Leeza Gibbons.
2 - It's just so easy to adhere it together with the E-Z Dots® Permanent - Refillable
3 - Adhere a old book page with the E-Z Dots® Permanent - Refillable again.
4 - Add white Gesso with fingers to blend the text out.

5 - Stamp your image and cut it out with scissors. I used a Duckling as motive I designed for Whiff of Joy . It's one stamp of the Spring collection "Freshly Hatched" and its available at the 20th of April.
6 - Adhere your motive with E-Z Dots® Permanent - Refillable
7 - Doodle and sketch some grasses with a black pen. If you don't want to draw you can also use stamps. Grasses is also a stamp on the coming soon Spring stamp set.
8 - Punch a little circle and add a Brad to create a shutter look for the flap.

Now you can add some sentiments or other details. I used some Rub-ons. And now it's ready to fill it with a coupon or card or little Easter present.

Version Scrap - Monumental Scrap

Hi there,

I'm very excited, I'm in Paris this weekend to teach at Version Scrap. I hope I will see a lot of Scrapaholics and creative people, maybe you (?) and I hope I will have time to see a bit of this wonderful city. Hm... I can already feel the "love in the air". :-)

I wrote this post earlier because I think I will be busy this weekend but I want to show you a project I made for Monumantal Scrap. Monumental Scrap is scrapping on mammoth format. On a size of at least 1m x 1m the artists scrapping live their. ;-)

I got an invitation and had the pleasure to scrap BIG. This is a 1m x 1m Canvas and I sprayed, painted with different mixed media techniques, drew and scrapped on it.

I was a little scared when I first saw the huge white surface, but with the first paint this feeling was gone. I quickly felt comfortable. I never thought that I would have so much joy in it. Normally I'm more impatient and want to quickly get a project to the end. But here I had to learn to be patient and enjoy the process. And I did indeed!

The bird was the inspiration to all further elements.

I decided to draw the Eiffel tower because of the place it will be shown and because I wanted to create a romantic mood and Paris is for love and romance.
The third detail was the street lamp.
Then I had a really big phase of “don’t know what now”.
Then I had the feeling to create a place of well-being and what is more obvious to integrate our home and my family. I draw the bigger house with window scene’s. But then I decided to give the house a scrap-part with pattern paper and to create the window scene with tags and some photos. The scrap part I realized with Adhesives by Scrapbook Adhesives by3L®.

I had a dancing silhouette of my younger daughter, still wating of a layout and I keep her dancing on top of the house.

We made a special photo shoot to get the other photos. And so everything came to each other.
I drew other houses and buildings to create the impression of a city and I cut out so many flowers to conceal a wrong perspective of the lantern.

Then I had the idea of the rose petals I saw it once on a postcard and I added all the other details. I also love the water pipe parts and water taps designed by Ingvild Bolme. And of course the street signs are really great and the little bulb fit’s perfectly at the street lamp. It's so easy to create a project with these beautiful embellishments and to give them that certain something.

I’m satisfied with that big canvas and I’m thankful for the invitation to Monumental Scrap, to have made this extraordinary experience.

And I want to say a big THANK YOU to ScrapbookAdhesives by 3L® and Ingvild Bolme and Prima Marketing to support me!
