Contrast - challenge on paperdvizhnik no.23

The new challenge on Paperdvizhnik Challenge Blog is about "CONTRAST".
And here is my interpretation about this theme.
I used the contrast from black and white, from light and dark to reflect the two sides of a person. My Layout speaks about my little One, sometimes a little "devil" but mostly a little sunshine, a real angel! Just a little kid with good and bad moods, with more sunny days than rainy days. I love her so much!

Publications in the Somerset Memories Magazine from Stampington

Finaly the spring issue of the Somerset Memories has reached Switzerland, yeah! I love this magazine so much but much more I love to see my work in it ;-)

My article is about 8 of my layouts made last year with Gelatos from Faber Castell. It's about techniques and thoughts about them.

And what a surprise to see two of my backgrounds as Artist Paper.

Would you use it? And if you used it I would love to see what you have created with it!!!!

And another good news! I will be publish again in the Somerset Memories with 9 of my layouts. It will be the autumn issue and it would be available at the 1th of october! I'm so excited again. It's such a pleasure and honor for me to show and explain my work in that wonderful magazine.

Decorative Plaster Tablet

Today I want to share a decorative plaster tablet I made for the Crafty Power Blog of Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.
This is one of a collection of three I made to hang it on the wall in my craft room.
I will show you the other ones next time.

I made the tablet with plaster and prepaired it with paint, stamps, paper scraps, tissue paper and Gesso to decorate it.

I used several Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L on this tablet.

This is the plaster tablet and the pretty stuff I wanted to use.

To fix the handmade washi tape feathers I used the small squares from the 3D Foam Squares White - Mix - 217 pcs.

Then I fixed the wood heart and a little piece of paper with the large and small squares from the 3D Foam Squares White - Mix - 217 pcs.

I cutted the clasp from the brad and fixed it with a small squares from the 3D Foam Squares White - Mix - 217 pcs.

The last issue was to stick the text stripe. To do this I used the Crafty Power Tape - 81' Built-in dispense.

Supplies I used:

Washi Tape from Tim Holtz ideaology
Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels

Here is my project for today.
Sehnsucht nach der Leichtigkeit des Seins.
Longing for the Lightness of Being.

You can see my first selfpainted butterfly on this canvas. This spring / summer, much turns me on to these little creatures. They are so light and delicate, while in an abundance of color as they are found rarely in animals. They also inspired me to make even delicate and light layouts / projects. This canvas crying out for additional small treasures like the bird house, the window or lamp. They are all products of Ingvild Bolme and I am thrilled with them. I have long supplemented the canvas with flowers, pushed it back and forth, but I decided not to use flowers ;-) Flowers are beautiful, as long as they are themselves the focus, but here I find it too much. And I wanted to keep the lightness and absolutely avoid it slipping into kitsch. Whether I have succeeded you have to tell me.

I used texture paste and stencil, Acrylic paint (white, little bit blue and brown) and Gesso for the background. I also added some paper stripes and colored them wtih gesso. I stamped in black (the wall) and in white (the writing). For finishing I used your chalk edgers Lime Pie, Woarn Jeans, Shabby Tote, White. I just dabbed it on different places: next to the wood, under the window, on the little bird house treasure and at the edges. And I used my fingr to blend them a little bit.

I will get back with a tutorial on how to make similar backgrounds using different mediums including chalk edgers soon. So stay tuned.
